Pizza Base

  • 1 lb. pizza dough or 1 tube Pillsbury thin crust dough

  • 2/3 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Grill: Set up a gas or charcoal grill and heat it to high. Brush the grill grates with oil to prevent the pizza dough from sticking during cooking.
  2. Shape the Dough: On a floured surface, shape the pizza dough into a thin crust. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes and then press gently to maintain a thin profile. If using pre-rolled dough from a tube, simply unroll it.
  3. Grill the Dough: Place the dough directly onto the hot grill grates. Close the lid and grill on high heat for 2 minutes. This will give the crust a nice char and partial cook.
  4. Flip and Add Toppings: Using tongs, carefully lift the lid and flip the dough over. Lower the grill heat to low. Quickly spread the crumbled goat cheese and chopped pecans evenly over the surface, then sprinkle the shaved Parmesan cheese on top. Close the lid to allow the cheese to melt and the crust to fully cook, about 4 to 6 more minutes.
  5. Finish and Serve: Once the crust is cooked through and the cheese melted, remove the pizza from the grill. Top it with fresh chopped sage and drizzle honey over the surface. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
