Base Ingredients
- 7 cups Golden Grahams cereal
- 5 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
Melted Mix
- 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 5 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup corn syrup (or substitute with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon water)
- Prepare Pan: Butter or grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to prevent sticking of the bars.
- Melt Mixture: In a large saucepan over low heat, combine 5 cups of mini marshmallows, milk chocolate chips, butter, and corn syrup. Stir gently with a rubber spatula until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
- Combine with Cereal: Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in the Golden Grahams cereal and the remaining 1 cup of mini marshmallows. The mixture will be very sticky at this point.
- Press into Pan: Spoon the sticky batter into the prepared pan and flatten evenly using the back of a rubber spatula. Lightly greasing the spatula can help prevent sticking as you press down.
- Set and Cut: Allow the bars to harden at room temperature for about 60 minutes until firm. Once set, cut into squares for serving.
Notes
- If you don’t have corn syrup, use 1/4 cup of sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon of water as a substitute.
- Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid refrigeration as it can make the bars too hard.
- Greasing your spatula when pressing the bars into the pan makes the process easier.
