Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Cheese

  • ½ pound Hatfield Thick-Cut Hardwood Smoked Bacon
  • 1 3-pound Hatfield Classic Boneless Ham
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 10-ounce block yellow cheddar cheese, shredded (approximately 3 cups)

Dairy and Sauce

  • 1 8-ounce container sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • Dash of your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Vegetables and Seasoning

  • ½ cup scallions minced small, tops and bottoms (34 scallions)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Breads and Other

  • dozen soft pull-apart slider rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F to prepare for baking both the bacon and the sliders.
  2. Cook the bacon: Lay out the thick-cut hardwood smoked bacon strips on a parchment-lined sheet tray and bake in the oven until they are crisp and golden, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the bacon, drain on paper towels to remove excess grease, let cool, then chop into small pieces. Keep the oven on for the next steps.
  3. Slice the ham: Using a very sharp slicing knife, carefully slice the 3-pound boneless ham into thin, even slices. Set these slices aside.
  4. Prepare the cheese spread: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded yellow cheddar cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced scallions, a dash of hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir well to create a creamy, flavorful spread.
  5. Add bacon to the spread: Fold the chopped crispy bacon pieces into the cheese mixture, ensuring everything is thoroughly combined.
  6. Prepare the slider rolls: Slice each of the 18 soft pull-apart slider rolls in half horizontally. Evenly spread the prepared bacon and cheese mixture onto both the top and bottom halves of all the rolls.
  7. Assemble the sliders: Distribute the thin slices of ham evenly across the bottom halves of the rolls. Fold larger slices as needed to fit the rolls properly. Then, place the top halves of the rolls over the ham.
  8. Arrange in baking pan: Place the fully assembled sliders tightly packed into a 9×13-inch baking pan or a pan that accommodates the rolls without too much space.
  9. Brush with butter and cover: Brush the tops of the sliders generously with melted butter. Cover the pan with parchment paper and foil to keep the sliders moist during baking.
  10. Bake covered: Bake the sliders in the preheated oven for 10 minutes with the cover on to heat through and meld the flavors.
  11. Bake uncovered: Remove the parchment and foil cover and continue baking the sliders for an additional 15 minutes until the tops are golden and slightly crisp.
  12. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

  • Using a sharp knife to slice the ham will create thinner, more even slices ideal for sliders.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the level of heat in the spread.
  • Ensure the bacon is fully crisped to add a satisfying crunch and smoky flavor.
  • Covering with parchment and foil during initial baking helps keep sliders moist and prevents the tops from drying out.
  • These sliders are best served fresh but can be reheated gently in the oven.
