Delicious and easy-to-make Valentine’s Day Truffles featuring creamy Oreo and cream cheese centers coated in smooth white chocolate, perfect for gifting or sharing on special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 36 Vanilla Oreos (about 15 ounces)
  • 1 8-ounce block cream cheese, softened

Coating

  • 1416 ounces white chocolate melts
  • Red oil-based food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a sheet pan that fits in your freezer or fridge with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Process Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse in 10-second increments until they become fine crumbs.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly, preferably by hand, to ensure a well-combined dough.
  4. Form Truffles: Using a 1.5-tablespoon cookie scoop, form the mixture into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Roll them smoothly with your hands, then chill in the freezer for 30 minutes or refrigerator for 1 hour to firm up.
  5. Melt Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, or melt gently over low heat in a double boiler.
  6. Add Coloring: If you wish to color the chocolate, add red oil-based food coloring a few drops at a time to the melted chocolate until the desired shade is achieved.
  7. Dip Truffles: Using a fork, dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, coating fully. Tap off excess chocolate and return to the parchment-lined sheet.
  8. Optional Decoration: For drizzle decoration, chill the coated truffles in fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes, then drizzle additional chocolate as desired. Add sprinkles immediately while the chocolate is still wet.
  9. Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature for about 2 hours until firm and glossy.

Notes

  • Using 16 ounces of white chocolate ensures enough coating and finishing drizzle with some leftover.
  • Chilling truffles before dipping helps maintain their shape during coating.
  • Melt the chocolate gently using short microwave bursts or a double boiler to prevent scorching.
  • Tap off excess chocolate from the fork for a smooth, even coating.
  • Work in small batches to keep chocolate fluid and easy to work with.
  • Set the truffles at room temperature for a glossy finish rather than refrigerating them after coating.
